May is the beginning of 3 (YES THREE!!) new books for book club. Tuesday and Thursday nights have been SO popular I decided to add another book on Wednesday nights for the scrapbookers out there. The way our book club works is this: Attend one or all of the sessions. You don’t need to own the book or have attended prior sessions to join in the fun. Sign up for the session(s) that interest you and have fun working on projects out of some of the most inspiring art and craft books published. All supplies are provided in your fee.

Tuesday night is Claudine Hellmuth’s “Collage Discovery Workshop”. This time we are doing things a bit differently since the projects in the back portion of her book utilize the techniques in the front portion, we’re skipping right to the projects and referring back to the information at the front of the book. Check the calendar each week for my sample of the project we’ll complete. (I’ll try to have the sample up at least one week prior to class)

Wednesday nights start a little later for those of you who have kids to put down to bed before you slip out of the house. From 8-9:30pm we’ll be working out the Page Maps (sketches) by Becky Fleck. Again, I will try to have photos of the layouts we’ll be working on weekly. You will be able to select paper that matches your photos and interpret the chosen sketches for yourself each week. This is the perfect time to get some serious scrapbooking done!

Thursday nights we’re back at 6:30 to practice a multitude of techniques from Julia Andrus’ book “Paper Transformed” Each week we’ll work on at least 6 different techniques. Each technique will be done on extra large manila tags (3 3/4″x 7 1/2″) so at the end of the series you will have a ton of them to bind together into a book if you choose. Again each week I’ll have samples up on the calendar to show some of the techniques for that week.
