This week in the studio: We’ve developed a list of our favorite projects that MAKE perfect gifts. This week we’re rolling out the series….won’t you join us?

MAKE! Monday

Memory Glass Pendants-Copper taped 1”x3” glass slides with mini collage, patterned paper or photos inside

Tea Light Holder-Copper taped 2”x2” memory glass with stamped and embossed images (or rub-ons)

Altered Mirror-9”x9” wooden framed mirror with 1.5”x1.5” chipboard “tiles” you cover with patterned paper and/or paint

Photo Ornament-White chipboard you cover with paper and/or ribbon, add beaded fringe and fill with an image and/or words

Altered Letter-Pick your letter from our 9” white or 6” raw wood letters. Cover with patterned paper, edge with paint or ribbon

Tuesday:

Image Transfer: In crafting it is a valuable skill to have the ability to transfer images from paper to unusual surfaces such as polymer clay, canvas, wood, plexi-glass etc… In this workshop you will get hands on experience with using many different transfer mediums such as (but not limited to) gel & mat mediums, beeswax, acrylic paint & packing tape.

Soldering 101: You’ve seen the darling pendants Sally Jean and others make that are finished off with silver solder. Take your copper taped pendants to the next level by adding a soldered finish. Don’t fear the molten metal, we’ll walk you through the process and you’ll come away with confidence and some great finished pieces ready to hang.

Wednesday:

Lunch Bunch-Image Transfer to Wooden Letter: One of the easiest methods of image transfer is heat. We’ll take laser printed images from collage sheets and directly out of the computer and transfer them to a 6 inch wooden letter. Bring personal photos if you wish.

Maya Road is in the house! We love these girls! It is always so much fun to have guest teachers and this is no exception. Carolyn and Debora are the sisters who own Maya Road. They are coming in to lead you through the process of making this stinking cute 4×4 chipboard binder. The sample has a LOVE theme….I feel a gifting opportunity coming on! Check out the blog for pictures of the inside pages.

Thursday:

Mini Canvas Grid: We were fortunate enough to take a class from Claudine Hellmuth in Chicago this summer. Come and make one of these beauties with us. You will cover each one of 9 mini canvases with different mediums and embellishments and group them together on an 8×8 canvas panel. The finished project has drawn ooh’s and ahh’s from everyone who sees them in the studio. Don’t miss out, we aren’t getting this on the calendar again until 2009.

Altered Alpha (JOY): Do you love the letters we’ve altered in the studio….you know, the ones that spell out things like “I designed it that way” or “a work of heart”…or whatever arrangement we have them in? We have the 12” paper mache letters set aside that spell JOY. Come and cover them with patterned paper of your choosing and walk away with a fabulous home décor piece to hang on a wall or set atop a mantle.

Friday:

Creative Café Stamped Calendar: It was such a joy to have Melodee Langworthy in the studio teaching last month. We were inspired by her “Through the Year” project and have come up with an adaptation using all the same stamps. Come and stamp on our die-cut pages, add binder rings and voila! You have a calendar ready for photos and notes….great as a gift or for yourself!

Please don’t get overwhelmed by all we are offering. Pick one thing and sign up. You can even sign up online. Class won’t be the same without YOU!
