Okay now about this week/weekend…

First we wish you and yours the most wonderful and joy filled Thanksgiving!  We have so manythings to be thankful for and you are all tops on my list…the friends that this business (another thing I am thankful for) has brought to me are priceless.  I don’t know what I would do without your kindness, support and friendship!

If you are around for the weekend we have several fun things planned including the $40 bag sale on Friday (starting at 7am) where you can buy a big bag for $40 and fill it with fun scrapbooking and craft supplies!

Then on Saturday and Sunday we are hosting a MAKE-it Marathon.  The studio will be stocked with all of the kits from our popular Handmade Gift Series!!  You can work in the studio for one hour or 24 hours…whatever works for you!  If you want to come just click here to register for the whole thing or click here to come for an hour…if your not sure when you might come please give us a call and let us know you might come -408-266-1005-this will help us plan how many kits and tables to set up!

and since this was long post and i love that you read this far I am going to give something away!  I have a couple of cool stamps from Tim Holtz to give-a-way.  They are wood-mounted and are ATC size…to win one just post here with your favorite Thanksgiving memory and something you are thankful for…We will pick a lucky winner on Friday!

We all find ourselves doing something new (hopefully often!) I’m finally really exploring this “social networking” thing….I’ve been doing bits and pieces but not as effectively perhaps as I could be. So, after meeting with someone I consider a “social networking guru” (Ryan Kuder) I’m jumping in (typical fashion) and LOVING it! I have to say it is addictive to start following people on Twitter (follow me! I’m aworkofheart) …and have them follow you back!

I’m baby stepping my way in though…sorta like that girl who walks into the back of the room and slides along the wall to find a dark and secluded vantage point to see whats going on….I’m definitely in the “lurking” phase.

    Happy Monday!!

It was such a fun time.  It leaves me wanting to play with my dremel and wire…stamps, images, magic glos OH MY!  It is a good thing I’m not writing this from the studio…I’d have dropped my laptop already to jump in and play.

I believe there are some kits available…I’ll be checking with Julee on this…email me if you want to reserve a kit….or even studio time to come in and make your very own…we’ve got the raw materials here in the studio.

Have a fabulous Friday…I am off to the kids classrooms to work on altered books and artist journals.

Look for some pictures coming soon.

Just when you thought the calendar was slowing down! We’ve managed to book the fantastic Lisa Super to lead an Altered Book Workshop on December 13th.

    dsc_0006

Come join Lisa Super in altering a hardback book into a special place for memories and treasures for safekeeping. We will cut a niche in the book for a sliding drawer and create pockets to hold pictures and mementos. This class strikes a wonderful balance between structure and freedom for personal expression.

If you are able: bring a box cutter with extra blades, safety glasses and any person items you’d like to add to your book, dimensional or otherwise. As always, the studio is stocked with these items if you need to simply “come-as-you-are”.

Visit Lisa’s Blog to see more of her work. http://www.anartsygirl.blogspot.com/

Did you know that our MAKE! studio series is all about MAKING! handcrafted gifts?

Chris and I have picked our favorite projects from the year and pulled them together into project kits.  Come in and MAKE! something to gift this holiday season.

Monday nights are the premier of that week’s 5 kits….at the end of the month (the weekend after Thanksgiving) we offer a MAKE! marathon.  Two days where you can pick your favorite kits and MAKE! handcrafted gifts for everyone on your holiday list.

If you can’t MAKE! it to a Monday night session, never fear, you can come in ANY time the studio is open to pick up your selected project kit(s) and MAKE! them at your convenience.

    Hope to see you soon!
